The episode begins in the village where Goshinki was killed by Inuyasha in his full-demon form in the previous episode. Coming out of the shadows are Rin and Jaken. After discovering the head, they ask who did it. Sesshōmaru said it was Inuyasha. He simply picks up the head, scaring Rin (though she might have faking it). Examining the fangs, Sesshōmaru can smell Tessaiga, which the fang broke it. He states that he's going to take the head somewhere. He orders Rin to stop screaming. She immediately obeys him and they follows him. What baffles Sesshōmaru is that he can smell the blood of his own and their father's.
Kaijinbō finds Inuyasha, who, as his luck may have it, is fully human. With the Tessaiga being repaired, and without his demon powers, Inuyasha is in quite a fix. However, his friends, namely Sango and Miroku, have taken on the battle, with little use. Inuyasha gets back the Tessaiga but, since he is fully human, it won't transform. The sun soon rises however, and he is now back to his old half-demon self, ready to fight.
Gangster Deok-su joined the game to pay off gambling debts after pissing off his crime boss. He's the closest the show has to a player-antagonist, and he has a history with Sae-byeok. Heo, 43, has an impressive career as a k-drama actor, with multiple roles this year. These include Beyond Evil, where he plays a similarly cold-blooded businessman, and Racket Boys, where he does a full 180 as the coach of a boys badminton team in Episodes 10-12.

In the case of the 80-column punch cards, the information professionals at the Social Security Administration continue to do that. The punch cards were copied to tape while both tape and card equipment were plentiful. Later, the information was copied from tape to disk and then to newer and more modern disks, and, in the future, they will hopefully be copied to whatever storage media makes sense at that time.
As the men disappeared down the road out of Twin Peaks, theyvanish from the historical narrative with only momentary subsequent glimpsesthat illuminate their return journeys. It took them at least two days toreach the rail terminal at Dagupan where they split into groups of from ahalf dozen to 50 men to begin the trek back to Manila. They applied for foodfrom the American official in charge there but were refused. Some triedsuccessfully to hitch rides on the train. G. N. Eagan, the Americanschoolteacher at Tarlac, saw several flatcars piled with timber on whichlarge numbers of obreros sat: "Many of them had handkerchiefs ... inwhich was rice and other provisions ... All of them were in very good humor, and evidently having a good time and a pleasant trip." Eagan complainedof their "arrogance," filling up the stations along the line andmaking no effort to open up a passageway for anyone. He also claimed to haveseen several of the men "that from appearance had drunk a large amountof 'vino' or other intoxicant." (31) However, others were lessfortunate, men like Maximo Trasona who had to make the entire journey onfoot. Groups of workers were strung out along the roads back to the capital"begging food of the people living along the route, as we had nothing toeat." Alfonso Ramos, Provincial Governor of Tarlac, saw many passingthrough Capas "begging food from house to house" and "halfnaked." (32)
This racial categorization both divided workers from one anotherand instilled a sense of unity among them. By labeling all Filipinos as oneand treating them as "natives" in relation to others, they began toturn a fictional commonality into an imaged reality. (50) Moreover, asFilipino workers discovered common interests in relation to anAmerican-dominated management structure, they manifested activities thatcould both be called non-confrontational forms of dissent or nascent classidentity. (51) Just how important large-scale construction enterprises withlarge, multi-ethnic indigenous labor forces such as the Benguet Road were inthe forging of a common consciousness among working people in the Philippinesis an intriguing question that deserves fuller consideration.
American management techniques were at first largely coercivethough there were strict regulations governing the use of physical violence.A reluctant workforce was egged on to greater efforts by white foremenmouthing coarse language and foul invective. Victor Clark, whose detailedsurvey of labor remains one of the principal sources on colonial education, observed one such instance in which a white boss pouring forth a torrent ofAmerican-Spanish "contumely" was regarded by a gang of"bewildered" stevedores as simply "borracho o loco"(drunk or crazy). (52) While some foremen may have been constrained byinjunctions to avoid physical contact, others were not, and the whole roadsite was imbued "by the idea of force." Personal violence, however, proved to be both ineffective and self-defeating as employees did not workany faster, deserted at the first opportunity, and spread stories about harshtreatment that encouraged others to stay away. Ridicule was a much moreeffective method according to Chief Engineer Holmes. Men found"loafing" were made to stand in a prominent position holding asmall piece of rock: "This would tend to call upon him a sheaf ofwitticisms and remarks from his collaborators, who would work with anincreased vim for some time." (53) On another occasion, a foreman wasable to appeal to the indigenous sense of hiya (shame) to induce his squad toclimb a river canyon side. On reaching the 50-foot ladder, the men hadcategorically refused to ascend, proving equally deaf to threats or appeals, and had only done so after the disgusted foreman had ordered his wife tomount: "She did so and the whole party, following her, moved on itsway." (54) Yet despite all these schemes, the men would "not do anhonest, full day's work" and could only be kept at work at allunder the vigilance of "a white foreman." (55)
And there was still a darker side to this resistance. Instances oftheft and robbery were reported where toolboxes were broken open, implementstaken and others scattered around the adjacent bush. Signs were vandalizedand boards removed. Portions of the completed road were willfully destroyed, ditches dammed, gutters and culverts blocked, and at least one incidence ofarson recorded in which a bridge was set alight. More sinister still, atimekeeper was attacked with bolos, the machete-like knife carried by mostmen in rural areas, and several horses were mutilated by the same means. These and similar incidences led Holmes to conclude that "the nativelaborer has proved himself on this work to be idle, shiftless, and stolidlyindifferent, approaching his work with no degree of intelligence or judgment,of a deceptive and treacherous character, wantonly careless and frequentlymaliciously destructive, uninterested and indifferent to his work, unwillingto learn and impossible to teach."
